Flu Diagnose

Influenza (Flu) Antiviral Diagnosis: Drugs and Related Equipment

Fast, accurate diagnosis is key to developing a treatment plan for any condition and disease—and flu is no exception.

Without the right diagnostic tools, however, it is very hard to distinguish flu from other viral or bacterial causes of respiratory illnesses. And if it's an influenza-like illness (ILI), it won't necessary respond to antivirals used to treat flu.

Is Your Current Test Kit FDA-Compliant?

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is reclassifying antigen based rapid influenza virus antigen detection test systems (RIDT) intended to detect influenza virus directly from clinical specimens that are currently regulated as influenza virus serological reagents from class I into class II with special controls and into a new device classification regulation¹.

This also means that some RIDTs you maybe be using might not comply with the new reclassification, and will no longer be allowed to be sold after January 12, 2018. We have listed products below that will meet reclassification.

Insource's knowledgeable consultants can evaluate your current RIDT setup and determine whether it satisfies the new compliance guidelines—and offer options that can suit the specific needs of your practice. Contact us today at 1-800-366-3829.

BD

Objective, lab-quality immunoassay test results for healthcare providers and laboratorians in physician offices, clinics, hospitals and IDNs—within minutes. The system streamlines the point-of-care (POC) diagnostic workflow and allows providers to quickly review patient results and determine the appropriate treatment in a single consultation.
